Pompom Deluxe - Manualidad Deluxe

A quién no le gustan los Pompoms. Llenos de color, blanditos, divertidos y lo más importante fáciles de hacer.

Este Pompom tiene un toque diferente, es como me gusta llamarlo a mí un pompón de lujo o Deluxe.

Esta actividad puede adaptarse a cualquier tipo de entorno.

En una escuela Montessori me gusta presentar esta actividad a la clase 12-15 años. En un entorno Montessori, los niños de esa edad crean y administran sus pequeñas empresas. Este Pompom Deluxe es algo que se puede convertir en un producto vendible. Lo pueden convertir en un llavero, una decoración para su bolsa del cole. Las posibilidades son infinitas.

Si hacéis homeschool quedéis adaptarlo a cualquier grupo de edad. Transformados como decoración para un árbol de navidad, para la habitación de tu hijo, juguetes ...

En una escuela tradicional también introduciría esta actividad en Secundaria porque los niños pueden usar las planchas de alisar el pelo (necesarias par hacer el pompom) por su cuenta. Si el presupuesto de la escuela para el área de arte es escaso y la escuela no puede proporcionar la lana, siempre puedes pedir a los niños que lo traigan de casa.

Necesitarás:

Lana
Tijeras
Cepillo para mascotas
Planchas de alisar el pelo
Goma elástica pequeña

Coge la lana y corta tiras de aproximadamente 10 cm. Cuantas más tiras, más lleno quedara el pompón al final. Así que corta tantos como quieras. Carta otro trozo de lana y ata el montón te tiras por el medio. Haz un nudo fuerte para asegurarte de que no se va a desatar en el proceso.





Debe quedar algo así



Obtén la goma elástica y ata los extremos del trozo de lana que aguanta el montón de tiras para que sepas cuales son en todo momento.



Coge un montoncito de tiras de lana y con el peine para mascotas empieza a peinar las tiras de lana. Hazlo en una superficie que no se dañe fácilmente. Una caja de cartón te ira bien.



Continúa peinando hasta que hayas hecho todas las tiras. Es completamente normal que muchos de los hilos se desprendan del pompom. Como se ve en la imagen de abajo.



Esta parte puede requerir la supervisión de un adulto. Calienta las planchas del pelo a temperatura baja. Coge unas cuantas tiras y planchalas como si fuera pelo normal.





Quedara así, no pasa nada está bien. Prometo que quedara muy suavecito al final.

Ahora peina una vez más.



Desata la goma elástica y tu Pom Pom Deluxe está listo para convertirse en lo que quieras que sea.



Nosotros decidimos que sería el complemento perfecto para el gorro que hicimos unas semanas atrás. (haz click  aquí para ver la tutorial)Así es cómo lo cosimos a nuestro gorro.

Con una aguja de plástico con un agujero lo suficientemente grande para el hilo de lana.Pasa la lana por el agujero.



Pasa la aguja con el pompom desde la parte de superior de afuera hasta la parte interior del gorro. Luego repite con el otro extremo. Ahora ambos hilas deben estar en el interior del gorro. Como en la foto.



Haz un par de nudos fuertes. Y ya has terminado.

Who doesn't like Pompoms. They are colorful, cute, fluffy, fun and most importantly easy to make.
This a Pompom with a twist, a pompom Deluxe.

This activity can be adapted to any kind of environment.

In a Montessori school I like to introduce this activity at 12-15. In a Montessori environment children that age manage their small businesses. This Pompom Deluxe is something that can be turned into a sellable product as a Key ring, deco for a school bag, really the possibilities are endless.

In a Homeschool set up you can adapt it to any age group. Make them as decoration for a xmas tree, for you room, toys...

In a traditional school I would also introduce this activity in a secondary or high school level because the children can use a straightening iron on their own. If the school budget for art supplies is tight and the school can't provide the yarn you can always ask the children to bring it from home.

You will need:

Yarn
Scissors
Pet brush
Straightening iron
Small elastic band

Get the yarn and cut it into approximately 10 cm strips. The more strips you have the fuller the end pompom will be. So cut as many as you like. Thigh it in the middle with a string. Make a strong knot to make sure its not going to get lose in the process.


   

   
It should look something like this



Get a small elastic band and tight the to end of the string that thighs the yarn together so you don't lose them.



Get a few strings and comb the with the pet comb. Do it in a surface that will not get damaged. A carton box will do.



Continue combing until you have done all the strings. It is completely normal that a lot of the yarn gets lose from your pompom. See Picture below.




This part might need adult supervision. Warm up your strengthening iron to a low heat. Get a few strings and straighten them with the straightening iron like if it was normal hair.




It will look like this, it'sOK. I promise it will be very fluffy.



Now comb once more.



Unty the elastic band and you are ready to go. You Pom pom Deluxe is ready to become whatever you want it to be.



We decided that our Pompom would be the perfect addition to the beanie we made a few weeks ago. (click here for an easy beanie tutoeial) Here is how we attached it.


With a plastic needle with a hole big enough for the yarn threat the needle through the string.



Pass one string to the inside of the beanie. Then repeat with the other one. Now both the strings should be on the inside of the beanie. Like so.



Make a couple of strong knots. And you are finished.
